Partially moderate avalanche danger - considerate fresh snowdrift
Avalanche danger is low in the morning but increases during the course of the day above the treeline to moderate. Some new snow and brisk winds lead to snowdrift accumulations. Especially in very steep entries in gullies and behind ridgelines in the expositions northwest via north till east slab avalanches can be triggered by small additional loads. Danger spots are increasing during the course of the day.
Snowpack
A fresh snowdrift cover accumulates in higher altitudes on top of a snow surface which is weakened by kinetic metamorphosis. This weak layer can be disturbed. Otherwise the new snow bonds very good with the old snow cover only in some places the bonded layers with different hardness can be prone to triggering. Weak layers within the snow base (kinetic metamorphosis) can hardly be triggered. Blow-off areas are often hard and icy.
Tendency
Wednesday night little amount of new snowfall. During the course of the day it will clear up. Snowdrift is partially prone to triggering.
