In the high mountains, there is more snow above 2400 m!

During the last deterioration at the beginning of the week, a lot of new snow fell above about 2400 m, almost 1 metre. At the surface, the snow cover has already thinned somewhat. Since Thursday, up to 20 cm of new dry snow has fallen with light to moderate north-easterly winds. Smaller snow drifts are forming in the immediate vicinity of the ridges. There is a weak layer in the snow cover, which has been covered by new snow.

Snowpack

During the last deterioration at the beginning of the week, a lot of new snow fell above about 2400 m, almost 1 metre. Snow fell on frosted ground on the slopes and on dry, fresh snow on the axis. Since Thursday, up to 20 cm of new dry snow has fallen with light to moderate north-easterly winds. Smaller snow drifts are forming in the immediate vicinity of the ridges.

Tendency

There will be westerly winds and snow on Monday. The risk of avalanches will increase.

Snow is scarce, and creepers may start to creep in places.

On the steepest slopes, a small creep of new snow can be triggered. Strong north-easterly winds will build drifts - on steep slopes we may trigger a small avalanche of dry snow. Even small avalanches can cause a loss of balance and a fall into an abyss.

Snowpack

Snow is scarce in the mountains. Since Thursday, up to 30 cm of new dry snow has fallen with light to moderate north-easterly winds. Small snow drifts are forming close to the ridges.

Tendency

On Monday, precipitation will occur, with a snowline at the highest peaks.

There is little snow, with areas of blowing snow on the south-western slopes.

On the steepest slopes, a small creep of new snow can be triggered. Strong north-easterly winds carry newly fallen snow - a small avalanche of dry snow can be triggered when snow drifts are loaded on steep slopes. Even small avalanches can cause a loss of balance and a fall into an abyss.

Snow is scarce in the mountains. Since Thursday, up to 10 cm of new dry snow has fallen with light to moderate north-easterly winds. Small snow drifts are forming close to the ridges.

Tendency

There will be westerly winds and snow on Monday. The risk of avalanches will increase.
