In addition, small wet loose-snow avalanches can trigger naturally in extremely steep terrain. Only in isolated cases can small dry slab avalanches still be triggered on very steep shady high altitude slopes close to ridgelines.

Above 1500m a few centimeters of new snow will fall accompanied by light to moderate winds. Older snowdrifts well consolidated. A weak layer can persist near the ground on shady side slopes at highest altitude. In south aspects, the snowpack has become patchy even at high altitude.
